Content of DVGW Code of Practice G 265-2

G 265-2 applies to the operation and maintenance of stations. 

DVGW Code of Practice G 265-2 serves as the basis for the operation of biogas upgrading stations (BGAA), biogas injection stations (BGEA) and hydrogen injection stations (WSEA), injection stations for synthetic methane (SNG) and backfeed stations (RSA). Another contribution to the utilisation of renewable gases in the public gas supply is made by electrolytically produced hydrogen, which is equated with biogas under certain conditions on the basis of the Energy Industry Act. Accordingly, the requirements of the Energy Industry Act and its regulations shall apply. In principle, this DVGW Code of Practice can be applied analogously to hydrogen from other, ideally renewable sources.

The aim of this DVGW Code of Practice is to organise the scope of maintenance of biogas upgrading stations, biogas injection and backfeed stations and injection stations for hydrogen in such a way that operational safety and availability are ensured while taking environmental and economic feasibility aspects into account.

The deadlines for maintenance activities are to be determined by the operating company depending on the selected maintenance strategy and the specifications or recommendations of the manufacturer or the placing on the market. For this reason, certain deadlines are only specified in this DVGW Code of Practice to the extent that they result from other requirements, e.g. the Industrial Safety and Health Ordinance.
